Roman Bronze Applique, Male Bust. An attractive, 1st-2nd century A.D., Roman bronze applique. It depicts a male bust wearing a robe and diadem. It was suggested to me when I bought it that the bust was Mercury but I see no attributes to confirm that. The applique probably adorned a table leg or similar object in the home of a wealthy merchant..
