Colima Drummer from Mexico, ca. 300 BC - 300 AD. An excellent Colima figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC - 300 AD. It is 3-5/8" high and depicts a seated drummer with his legs wrapped around a large drum. He is wearing a simple headdress and is adorned with a necklace and bracelets. Intact, good mineral deposits. Ex Rendon collection. Cf. Kan “Sculpture of Ancient West Mexico”, page 91. Value range: $350 - $500.
