Silver Belt Buckle. Bulgaria, XVII-XVIII Century. The “National” design. Each side tear-drop shaped in hollow-work silver with embossed and inscribed decoration and enlaid with mother of pearl carved with a two-headed “Imperial” eagle in relief. Joining the two halves is a silver pin in the rear connected to one half by a fine silver rope chain. In the front the join is covered by an engraved silver plate set with three stones (the two outside red, the center blue). 6” x 3”. Superb quality.
